The Ortronics Certified Design Engineer Program (CDEP) is a comprehensive engineering program geared toward Architects, Designers, Engineers, and Consultants. The CDEP program is designed to empower participants to deliver high quality, leading edge communications system designs by providing the highest level of technology support, including industry updates. The CDEP program is in sync with the construction industry. All CDEP participants are updated on the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) format. All CDEP participants are required to attend a 1-day Technology Seminar that covers the following topics: - Industry Standards: IEEE, TIA/EIA, NEC
- Emerging technology: VOIP, PoE, 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper
- Data center STD 942 & data center design considerations
- Optical fiber & copper testing requirements
- Communication specification writing practices
All CDEP participants receive BICSI CECs and a technology binder that contains: - Technology presentations
- Testing requirements
- Ortronics product catalogs & new product updates
- Technology Specifications
The CDEP program also provides the information for seamless integration of Ortronics, Wiremold and Cablofil products to ensure a clean, neat, cost effective, and coordinated communications system. The CDEP Program provides a technology overview of the communications industry, and enhances working relationships between Ortronics, Wiremold, Cablofil and each CDEP participant.
